DAN’S DINER is a 1925, 18-seat Jerry O’Mahony Diner built in Elizabeth, NJ.
The diner was advertised as scrap from a Connecticut yard and purchased by Spencertown resident Dan Rundell, a mason by trade, and an avid collector of American Diner memorabilia. Mr. Rundell spent many nights and weekends, twelve years altogether, restoring the diner’s interior to its original luster. Its features include a curved oak ceiling with hand-painted gold-leaf treatment, subway tile floors and wainscotting, frosted windows with etched-glass illustration, and gleaming stainless steel coffee urns. Subtleties of the era are all throughout making a visit to Dan’s Diner a unique eating experience in the Columbia County area. |
